The Gospel of Jesus Christ has given me the confidence and ability to fulfill my roles as a wife and mother and an understanding of my divine and eternal role as a daughter of God.
Having a testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ has given me the knowledge that my gender is eternal and I have always been a daughter and a woman.
Being sealed to my husband for time and all eternity in the House of the Lord by the proper authority gives me the knowledge that my role as a wife is part of God’s eternal plan. Knowing this gives me the perspective that I am more than a “housewife”, more than a “housekeeper”, and more than any worldly title suggests. I am a helpmeet, a companion, a counselor, and an equal partner with my husband. I am indispensable to him and know that my efforts to make our home a bit of heaven on earth build a firm foundation of strength and support for our lives together.
The gospel of Jesus Christ helps me to view eternity as I realize I am in partnership with Heavenly Father to bring his sons and daughters to this earth and give them bodies and teach them of His ways and His doctrines. When I realize the importance of my blessed calling of a mother and a teacher and a nurturer, I find I am strengthened by the teachings of the prophets and the scriptures which give me guidance and support. I am encouraged to seek my Father in prayer and to listen for His answers through the Holy Ghost. And I am uplifted by a sisterhood available through the Relief Society organization.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the vehicle used to bless the lives of all who want to spend eternity in the Celestial Kingdom with our Father in Heaven. Being a member of this church has given me the vision of who I am and what I can become. It has offered me the covenants and ordinances that allow me to live forever with my dear husband and my sweet children. I see clearly the path I want to travel and the destination I want to achieve.
